| The New 2007 SVIA standard, That Went into Federal Law on 02/10/2009 is based Not on Engine Size but on Vehicle Speed. Here is a summary of how the age guideline it is set up: "Y6" Age 6 through age 9: 10 mph or (16km) maximum set at the factory, 15 mph or (24km) maximum if all speed limiting restrictions are removed. "Y10" Age 10 through age 13: 15 mph or (24km) maximum set at the factory, 30 mph or (48km) maximum if all speed limiting restrictions are removed. "Y12" Age 12 through 15: 15 mph or (24km) maximum set at the factory, 30 mph or (48km) maximum if all speed limiting restrictions are removed. "Y14" "T" or "Transition model" Age 14 through age 15: 20 mph or (32km) maximum set at the factory, 30 mph or (48km) maximum if all speed limiting restrictions are removed. "Y16+" "G" or "Adult" Anything over 30 mph top speed is limited to Adult use only. |
